Previously thought to belong to the dog species, the thylacine has now been shown to belong to the cat species. Although it's had and jaws resemble wolves, its body is a cat's body, and it hunted like cats do. Sadly the last of its kind died off in a zoo in 1936. It was driven to extinction by the introduction of the dingo to its natural habitat, Australia. The thylacine was a marsupial with a pouch that opened to the back.
