Now this is Very interesting indeed! A theory referred to as Anderson localization. You have to really think about it. Can barriers that reflect sound waves result in the sound staying at its source, resulting in perfect silence? Because it never moves outward due to the destructive interference, it is considered as never having left the source.
It's a point that could be debated. Did the sound leave and then reflect back? Or never leave simply because no one ever heard it nor did technology detect it.
Hmmm. I will have to think about this one.
