Okay this is just awesome. It is just the encouragement I need to go through with it. I am tired of my old worn out dead carpets and I know there's hardwood underneath, I peeked! I am so excited. The refinishing will be well worth it. Especially because the wood underneath has really interesting patterns and shapes. I can tell the finish is really worn down, but there's not really any stains, at least what I can see of it without taking my carpets all the way off. I want to be out of the house when they remove the carpets because it will be so dusty. My nose is already running just thinking about all the dust. But I am so dang excited now!

How to cool off without air conditioning! Wow that's just what I need right now as I sit here sweltering. This article lists a dozen or more things you can do to feel cooler even if you don't have AC. In fact I am going to try some of them right now.
I also have more fans I am not using that I think I will dust off and go set up right now.
On days like this I sure don't feel like cooking. Although I do use things like an electric frying pan in the heat of the summer so that I don't have to turn on the stove or oven, which generate a lot more heat. The other nifty idea that I do is cook in the crock-pot...but place it outside in the shade and plug it into my outside house plug! It works wonders if you need to cook food in the summer but don't want to heat up your house. (I don't have a BBQ)
Don't place the crock-pot in the sun because the sun will shine on it and heat it up too much.

Cottage cheese is soooo yummy! Oh I love it so much! I grew up eating it with chopped onion in it, and topped with salt and pepper. It's so good. You just have to try it. Another way it's good, and yes it breaks your diet but it also introduces really healthy fats, is this: Take 1/2 of an avocado, with skin and seed removed. Drop a good-sized glob of cottage cheese on top. Cover the top of the cottage cheese with 1/2 can of smoked oysters. Enjoy your gourmet meal!!
