How to Make Rice Porridge

Media_httpfarm3static_hadlc

Oh this rice porridge just looks sooooooo good! Our family is very whole-grain oriented, but I totally agree with Dr. Ben Kim's statement that cooked white rice can be a healthy food choice in some circumstances.

And when the body can't tolerate a lot of fiber, white rice can give nutrition the body needs to heal in an easily digestible form.

Another interesting thing about white rice is this: Mothers with colicky babies can use the water that white rice was boiled in. Cooled off, this rice water helps to reduce or even eliminate colic.

I'm not sure whether I would want my rice porridge with something sweet like cinnamon and raisins or with something savory like fermented soy. I think I would like both.

Years ago I used to have rice pudding my Grandma made. I think it was more like the cinnamon and sugar version.
